For my mommy darling’s birthday, I wanted to combine a few of her favourite things in a cake – coffee cake, turquoise, steampunk, and butterflies – so I made a coffee cake, filled it with coffee buttercream and chocolate chips, covered it in marbled turquoise sugar paste with a little gold painted on, and made turquoise butterflies and gold cogs and wheels.
