Chocolate and Apple…

Author: Angel

I was really fed up when I realised I hadn’t taken a picture of the Tarte Tatin (upside down apple tart cupcakes), especially since I had to do them twice! The first batch has an okay batter, but I ruined the caramel sauce and it turned into a burnt caramel sauce that looked and smelled too dreadful. So I did them again. The second time they were perfect and my fiancé reckons they’re the best Tarte Tatin I’ve ever done! And they are a lot of work with the apple in the batter and the glazed apple slices and home-made caramel sauce…

The other hald of this order was chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing and a chocolate malted honeycomb ball topping. I outdid myself on the icing for this one if I say so myself…

I hope you enjoy them Marleen.

Vanilla Sample Boxes

Author: Angel

This week, I had vanilla sample boxes available. I sold 11 of these for R40 each, and when I put the offer out there I had no idea what I was actually going to do with them!

I ended up with several “regular” cupcakes, just cake and icing and sprinkles, several “decadent” cupcakes and a few luxury cupcakes too!

Some of the pictures have descriptions- click on a picture to see it.

Blog Girls Meet

Author: Angel

This was the first time I experimented with completely new recipes, and apart from the caramel I was rather pleased with the results!

The strawberry cheesecake cupcakes were a huge hit- and remain a favourite! They’re a “plain” cake base, filled with a little sweetened cream cheese and a whole strawberry, decorated with cream cheese icing. Mouth watering!

The other recipe I tried was a type of miniature apple tart in a cup! They were topped with glazed apple slivers and a home made caramel sauce. They weren’t perfect (according to the recipe) but they were rather tasty.

The apple ones are R20 each and the strawberry ones R15 each.
