Colette ordered a dedication cake for her triplets and their big brother (two boys and two girls) for this weekend! Each child has a handmade “angel” bear on top of the cake with their initials painted onto a paw-pad by hand and I had SO much fun making these little bears!
This 30cm, gluten free, vanilla cake is filled with pink and blue vanilla butter icing, iced with white vanilla butter icing, and then covered with a thin layer of white sugarpaste.
The big silver dragees were pressed into the sugarpaste and created a bit of a quilted effect on top of the cake. The pink and blue crosses on the side were cut by hand. The date is done with moulded white sugarpaste numbers glued onto the cake cover with small silver dragees used as date seperators.
*forgive the picture quality… I am camera-less right now and have to resort to using my phone camera.
This is a chocolate cake filled with chocolate butter icing and covered with ganache. I then decorated it with the birthday girl’s name, pink and blue stripes, a handmade sugarpaste pirate girl and a treasure chest!
These vanilla cupcakes are topped with pink and blue and pink and white, two-tone, vanilla butter icing and decorated with handmade sugarpaste treasure maps, pirate hooks and tiaras.
Using several cowboy themed cakes I found on the internet for inspiration, I designed this two-tiered cake for my nephew’s first birthday and his cowboy themed party!
The cake inside is a chocolate mousse cake, filled with strawberry and apricot jam to compliment the sweetness of the cake, and the chocolate icing under the sugarpaste cover. This cake recipe is always a winner because its a divinely rich and surprisingly moist chocolate cake.
All the decorations on the cake from the boots to the the fat grey pony, the fence posts and the cacti, the cow print, the belt and buckle, the hat and the bandanna on top- were all handmade by me, without moulds. I was very pleased with the “leather look” I achieved on the boots too!
