Royal Icing Iris Flower

Out of curiosity, I Googled “blue iris flower” and I was simply astounded by how many different kinds of iris there are!

Anyhoodle, mine is faaar from realistic, :P but I am rather pleased with my first attempt nonetheless. Its a surprising amount of work to make one let me tell you! I will make it darker and frillier the next time I make one though.

Royal Icing Flowers

Using royal icing, I made two open roses and a bud, rose leaves and some jasmine flowers and buds. I finished them with dusted colours and steaming, and then fashioned them into a type of corsage.

A Cazpix Photography Prize

Cazpix Photography hosted a competition a while ago, and the second place prizewinner was the lucky recipient of a dozen chocolate cupcakes with chocolate butter icing.

I also made the bright pink Cazpix Photography logo out of royal icing mounted on a fondant disc to top the cupcakes as per Caz’s request.
