Red Velvet Brownies!

White chocolate brownies are called blondies, but I don’t know what to call these as they’re not brown at all…
I have been craving my red velvet brownies for aaages, and I finally got around to making them for myself and the two men in my life!
I added dried cranberries (I used fresh ones last time and that didn’t work very well) and roughly chopped macadamia nuts to this batch and I can’t get enough of them!
The dried cranberries add a perfect, slightly tart balance to the sweetness of the cookie, and the macadamia nuts add texture and flavour, and a brownie isn’t a brownie without nuts!

Lookit! @Pillsbury Brownies!

Remember when Pillsbury sent me a surprise hamper to promote their new packaging?
Well, the first thing I decided to experiment with was the brownie mix.
Dead easy to mix too!

For me, a brownie has to have nuts in it, so I added a 100g packet of roasted, salted and chopped cashews and macadamias.

And here they are, hot out of the oven…

The box says it makes nine brownies, but I used a 20cm square pan and I managed to cut twelve nice square brownies.

And here is the finished brownie, nuts included!

I will give it 5 minutes less in the oven next time as I would have preferred the inside to be a little bit gooier, but these were delicious and they disappeared in short order, let me tell you!

Cupcakes And Custom Decorations

Kim ordered an assortment of cupcakes for a bachelorette party and ordered several specially made sugarpaste decorations for some of the other edibles at the party.

For the decorations I made a ginger kitten, a sheep, a Jack Russell, a “tatty” bear, a couple of men’s torsos with open shirts, a couple of pairs of handcuffs and some pouty lips! These are all made by hand, no moulds were used.
