This is an extra tall, super decadent, white velvet cake with cream cheese icing – six layers of cake and icing inside!
It was covered with white sugar paste, and decorated with sugar paste pansies in shades of purple, yellow and white, white daisies, little purple butterflies, and a giant purple sugar paste gift bow!

Kim and her family have been regular customers of mine for many years, and this pair of sugar paste cowboy boots was ordered as a cake topper for a joint-60th birthday.
One one boot-strap is the name “PAT” and on the other the name “NAN”, and they are decorated with a floral design.
I also made a silver horseshoe that says “HAPPY 60th BIRTHDAY” with a silver star-shaped sheriff badge.
The gorgeous yellow sunflowers were made by another cake artist as sugar flowers remain my arch nemesis… 😛
The finished cake – baked by someone else – looked liked awesome!

This two-tiered cake was for Amelie and Tenike’s birthday celebrations.
The bottom tier is vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream filling and a pink and red, ombre buttercream cover, and the top tier is chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, covered with yellow sugar paste and orange shading. Its decorated with vines, leaves and flowers.
The cake topper is handmade by me, two lion cubs, one sporting pink hair and a bow, and a smaller one with a bow, representing the two birthday girls.

This is a chocolate cake made to look like a tree stump, decorated with sugar paste toadstools, acorns, stones, vines, flowers, and hand made sugar paste animal friends – a fox, bird, bunny, owl, and raccoon.
The vanilla cupcakes in brown paper cups were topped with white vanilla buttercream, and decorated with handmade sugar paste owls in yellow, pink, orange, and mint green.
Here are the finished toadstools, leaves, and flowers, made in preparation for finishing the cake decoration and dried before being put on the cake.

Anouska ordered some sugar art with which to decorate a first birthday cake – and the little collection of bunny, flowers, and bunting, traveled all the way to Harrismith!
The cake topper bunny has a body made of polystyrene balls covered in sugar paste, with long floppy ears. The number one is painted with tiny pink roses.
There is sugar paste bunting in white, pastel pink, and pastel yellow, some with tiny hand painted flowers and the letters spelling out “LANA” in white.
The flowers are pink roses, white daisies, some white fantasy flowers and an assortment of smaller flowers.
The finished cake! Isn’t it gorgeous!
